To quote Steve Hargadon, "To Deal with Information Overload is to Produce More Information." This seems to be a conflicting statement, but the idea is to get the person to become involved in the learning process by participating. When you work with a new project, the more you search, play, use, or dissect the project, the more you learn. I was very interested in the article, Web 2.0 Is the Future of Education. He mentions 10 trends which he attributes to John Seely Brown and his lectures. I thought the new word "pro-sumer", a combination of producer and consumer is extremly accurate.
The other article is Minds on Fire: Open Education, the Long Tail, and Learning 2.0. I think the biggest impact of this article is the changing of the phrase "I think. Therefore, I am." to "We participate. Therefore we are." He gives several examples how the "flat earth" is benefitting many around the world who would never get an opportunity to become educated. This article could be reread several times a week and still supply new ideas.
